6 squares, 2.5" x 2.5" (12 dark and 12 light total)
If you wish to 'slash your stash', and cut from scraps, you will need the following:
From DARK PRINTS, cut:
60 rectangles, 2.5" x 5.5"
144 rectangles, 2.5" x 4.5"
84 squares, 2.5" x 2.5"
From LIGHT PRINTS, cut:
60 rectangles, 2.5" x 5.5"
144 rectangles, 2.5" x 4.5"
85 squares, 2.5" x 2.5"
It is important to use DARK fabrics, to CONTRAST with your LIGHT fabrics, so that the pattern is evident.Blocks in this quilt are 8.5"square, and the configuration is 6 blocks x 6 blocks, with a pieced sashing between. (TOTAL of 36 blocks) If you wish to make a QUEEN size quilt, you would want a 8 blocks x 9 blocks configuration, or a TOTAL of 72 blocks-exactly DOUBLE the amount. So, you would need to DOUBLE the amount of fabric, and DOUBLE the amount of strips cut, for a QUEEN size quilt. Allow extra fabric for both your enlarged borders, in this case.
